MANILA, Philippines – This is probably the best news for members of the “noblest profession” in decades.
A member of the Senate has filed a bill seeking to double the minimum salary of public school teachers.
Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV filed a bill that will see a 100-percent increase of the “most underpaid and overworked” tutors from its present salary grade 11 to salary grade 20.
This means that under Senate Bill No. 487, public school teachers should increase their take-home pay from P18,549 to P36,567. (Click here to read more)
