Bandila Anchor Says ‘Mysterious Illness’ Report not Meant to Scare the Public

Manila, Philippines – A news anchor for ABS-CBN’s late-night program ‘Bandila’ aired their side of the controversial report regarding a ‘flesh-eating’ illness in Pangasinan that caused panic and apprehension among the public recently.

On February 24, Jasmine Romero of ‘Bandila’ reported about an alleged mysterious ‘flesh-eating’ illness that is supposedly spreading in the province.

A video of the report was published on ABS-CBN News website the next day, and was picked-up and shared on social media, spreading hysteria and confusion online almost immediately.

Julius Babao, one of the ‘Bandila’s anchor, said the airing of the report was not intended to sow fear among the people, but to bring the case to the attention of those who could have helped the victims. (Click here to read more)
