MANILA, Philippines – The Bureau of Immigration (BI) has confirmed that socialite-turned-state-witness Ruby Tuason flew to Hongkong on March 2, 2014 via Cathay Pacific flight CX 902 at 6:09 p.m.
This was also confirmed by Tuason’s lawyer, Dennis Manalo who said his client left the country to attend to personal matters, among them to arrange the money she promised to return to the Philippine government.
“She has personal matters to attend to, foremost of which is yung commitment niya to return P40 million, so she is talking to people on how to come up with a financing for this,” said Manalo in a statement.
Tuason earlier made a commitment to return the amount she allegedly benefited from transactions with NGOs linked to Janet Napoles using the pork barrel of Senators Jinggoy Estrada and Juan Ponce-Enrile.
The former social secretary has implicated both senators in her testimony during the Senate hearing on the “pork barrel” anomaly. (Click here to read more)
