A 16-year-old Filipino-American from New Jersey successfully sneaked past the security of One World Trade Center, supposedly one of the most secure and safest buildings in New York under construction, to get to the 1776-foot-tall building’s spire and take pictures of the view from the top and “selfies.”
Justin Alexander Casquejo reportedly accessed the construction site by first slipping through a small opening on a fence at around 4 a.m. Sunday, then climbed a scaffolding to the sixth floor.
He then took an elevator to the 88th floor and used the staircase to make it to 104th storey, all without any security pass or papers.
From the rooftop of the Freedom Tower, the teenage boy climbed to the spire and stayed there for two hours, according a CNN report.
It was also reported Caquejo sneaked past a sleeping security guard, who had since been fired for negligence of duty.
The Fil-Am teener, who was described as a thrill-seeker, apparently had previous history of sneaking into buildings under construction and taking pictures of himself while in “daredevil” acts. (Click here to read more)
