The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) found virtually nothing on Flight MH370 captain’s seized simulator and hard drive after days of trying to investigate and recover the deleted data, according to a source who has access to information on the probe.
The flight simulator and its hard drive were confiscated from the home of Captain Zaharie Ahmad Shah in the early stages of the investigation after the pilot’s background was scrutinized in an attempt to find a link between him and the fate of the missing plane.
It turned out, however, that neither the simulator nor the deleted data recovered offered any significant information to establish a connection between Zaharie and the mystery of Flight MH370.
The FBI, which has an extensive record of recovering deleted data from a computer, was asked by the Malaysian government for help after initially trying to keep American investigators at a distance from the on-going inquiry. (Click here to read more)
