‘Anonymous Philippines’ hacks several Chinese websites

MANILA, Philippines – A Filipino hacker group calling itself ‘Anonymous Philippines’ has launched an online attack against China by hacking close to 200 of its government websites on May 18, as claimed by a post on the group’s Facebook page.

Anonymous Philippines, who became notorious for defacing websites, including the Philippine government’s, inserted a page on each hacked Chinese site with a message: “China’s alleged claim on maritime territories and oppressive poaching can no longer be tolerated. Stand against oppression! It’s time to fight back! Say no to China’s bullying!”

The hacking spree, called by the group ‘OpChinaReloaded’, is an apparent retaliation to China’s blatant disregard of the Philippines’ sovereign rights and its continued assertion of dominance in disputed territories in West Philippine Sea. (Click here to read more)
