SAN FRANCISCO, California — An anonymous philanthropist in San Francisco, California is creating a buzz online following a series of random scavenger hunt for an envelope with cash amounting to anywhere from $20 to $1,000 all over the city.
The self-confessed mysterious millionaire made it even more exciting for ‘treasure hunters’ when he started dropping clues to the envelope’s location via a Twitter account @HiddenCash. His follower shoots up from a few hundred to almost 300K in five days.
His clues range from vague narrative of known places in the city to ordinary fire hydrants in the streets. Most of them are accompanied with photos and a brief description of place.
A 28-year old man named Sergio Loza saw a clue on Twitter Sunday that read “Early bird gets the worm” and found the envelope taped to a parking meter near Mission District. (Click here to read more)
