An 11-year-old boy from China gets honored on social media and has doctors bow in respect over his decision to donate his organs before cancer completely took his life last month.
The boy moved to Shenzen to attend a primary school and to join his brothers and sisters. Shortly thereafter, he started complaining of unexplained headache and feeling of dizziness. In the days that followed Liang had trouble walking.
The family then took him to a hospital where they were told the boy is suffering from brain tumor. Two successive operations were unsuccessful to save him from the dreaded cancer.
Liang’s mother said it had always been her son’s lifelong dream to become a doctor and help save others’ lives. But since the terminal disease wouldn’t allow him to fulfill them any more, he begged his parents to donate his organs as another way of helping others and making his dream come true.
“There are many people doing great things in the world,” Liang said in his sickbed, according to China Daily. “They are great, and I want to be a great kid, too.” (Click here to read more)
