TAMPA, Florida – A couple of workers found what looks like a mannequin hanging from a garage of a house they were hired to clean at 6527 Treehaven Drive in Spring Hill on Thursday.
Thinking it was a prank, they cut it loose and dumped it at a landfill together with the rest of the trash they collected.
However, workers at the landfill who were told it was a mannequin grew suspicious because of its foul odor and called the police to report the matter.
It turns out that the hanging mannequin was actually a mummified corpse of a man who was evicted from the house and apparently committed suicide.
Police who went to investigate found a suicide note from one Jeremy Witsoth scrawled on the wall of the house. Witsoth is identified by the police as the 33-year-old previous tenant who lived there with a girlfriend and several children before the couple separated and were evicted by the owner of the house.
