ILOILO CITY – A female student in this city is accused of sextortion and is now facing criminal charges for posting nude photos of her five classmates on the internet.
A report by local newspaper The Guardian said the scandal broke out two months ago after sexually explicit pictures of the victims in a prominent high school uniform surfaced online.
The five victims have filed criminal charges against the suspect before the Iloilo City Prosecutor’s office on July 31 for violating Republic Act (RA) 9995 otherwise known as the Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009.
All the victims are said to be friends and classmates of the female suspect, according to PO3 Jessica Gerardo, head of Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (CIDU) women’s desk in the city.
The victims were supposedly convinced by the suspect to be photographed naked in March and told their pictures will appear in an international publication based in Canada, but their faces would be hidden. (Click here to read more)
