To coincide with the memorial service in honor of their beloved son, the parents of James Foley released one of his final letters before he was executed by an IS jihadist this month.
Foley was the American journalist shown in a You Tube video several days ago beheaded by a masked Islamic extremist supposedly in retaliation to Washington’s armed attack on jihadists in Iraq and Syria.
His final letter was never written on a piece of paper, but was committed to memory by another prisoner, Danish photojournalist Daniel Rye Ottosen, 25, who spent 10 months with Foley in captivity before he was released in June.
Right after his release, Ottosen called Foley’s mother and recited the letter to her.
The very touching letter from their son tells of memories of his father, John, and mother, Diane, and of the many great family times he has had, things that according to the 40-year-old journalist, enables him to “escape” momentarily from prison. (Click here to read more)
