MANILA, Philippines – During his speech at the Libingan ng Mga Bayani in celebration of the National Heroes Day on Monday, President Benigno Aquino III draws the attention of his critics – those he called the ‘fake advocates’ of good governance – to a letter written by a 13-year-old student from Bacolod City.
The article, “The Blame Game” was written by a teenage, 8th Grade student Ma. Francesca Santiago from University of St. La Salle Integrated School and was published on Philippine Daily Inquirer on August 21.
The President admired the young student’s letter, describing it as “truly remarkable” and was equally impressed by Santiago, who, despite her young age,“exhibits more discernment than some who are much older than her.”
In his speech, Aquino warned against the “select and selfish few who remain determined to bring back the old and abusive political systems.” (Click here to read more)
