Roxas accepts Ice Bucket Challenge, Binay rejects

MANILA, Philippines – Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Mar Roxas is now officially included in the growing list of government officials who took on the charity craze ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.

He was nominated by ABS-CBN reporter Doris Bigornia who challenged him to douse himself with a bucket full of cold water within 24 hours.

A video was uploaded on You Tube showing the Interior Secretary accepting the dare, but addressed Bigornia first before pouring a pail of water over his head: “Doris, we’re still friends.”

His wife, Kapamilya news anchor Korina Sanchez can be heard laughing in the background.

Roxas’ political rival, Vice President Jejomar Binay, on the other hand, told reporters he can no longer take the challenge citing health reasons and old age.

The 71-year-old 2016 presidential frontrunner recalled a similar incident in Batangas, after which he supposedly got sick. (Click here to read more)
