Watch: Student surprises girlfriend with a street serenade in Manila

A student from a school in Manila gave his girlfriend what is probably the biggest, if not the best, surprise of her life.

A video of a young male student serenading her unsuspecting girlfriend in the intersection of Mendiola has gone viral after it was posted on Facebook by one Jonah Anjela Rivero Flores.

The video showed a young student in school uniform singing the classic Rey Valera “Kahit maputi na ang buhok ko” complete with an accompanying guitarist and a sound system. His conniving friends, presumably, can also be seen in the background holding a colorful banner; although the picture was not clear enough to read what was written on them, but obviously it has something to do with his romantic effort.

He was also holding a bouquet of flowers while professing his love for her amid the throngs of excited people around.

The crowd went wild and cheered when it appeared the subject of his dramatic spectacle finally took notice and started approaching her boyfriend on the “stage”.

Conversations heard among the spectators suggested the girl is a student of San Beda College. A uniformed student emerged from the crowd, gaping in both surprise and amazement. The two finally united in the middle while the crowd applauded and giggled in romantic excitement.

“Happy third year anniversary“, he greeted her before kissing her on the forehead.

“Ito, bouquet, first time ko lang magbibigay sa ‘yo, sa three years. For the first time binigyan kita ng flowers,” the boyfriend continued.

(Here is a bouquet, the first time in three years. For the first time I gave you flowers.)

“Sa lahat ng lalaki, gusto ko ipaalala n’yo sa mga girlfriend n’yo na walang babaeng maliit kung ipagmamalaki n’yo,” he added. (Click here to read more)
