- A student posts shoutouts to his friends who contributed for his school fees
- It was his last semester in school and could have discontinued without the help
- The student revealed his OFW father met an accident and could not send remittance
MANILA, Philippines – It was not a big amount, but it came from the selfless, collective efforts of those so-called real friends.
This is the heartwarming story of a netizen who posted a Facebook shoutout to his friends who ‘chipped-in’ to come up with the P1,665 he needed as enrollment fees for his last semester in school.
The sharer was not named in a Facebook post of K*pal Lord’s page, and so are his friends, or how many of them have actually contributed to reach the amount.
But it was nevertheless a touching story of friendship, and of brothers who promised to be there for each other when needed.
“Shoutouts sa mga tropa kong nagpatak-patak para magkaroon ako ng pang-enroll, para makabuo ako ng P1,665 na paunang bayad. Salamat mga boy,” the post read.
(Shoutouts to my friends who chipped in so I can have money for enrollment, so I can raise P1,665 for my initial fees. Thanks a lot boys.)
The sharer narrated how he felt embarrassed while his friends collected money from one another to complete the amount, knowing that just like him, they need it too.
Based on his story, he is on the last semester in school and would probably discontinue his studies if not for his friend’s help.
“Isang sem na lang tayo. Muntik na akong hindi makapagpatuloy. Kundi dahil sainyo…wala. Hindi talaga ako makakapagenroll ngayon,” he said. (We’ve only one semester left. I would have stopped. If not because of you, I could have not enrolled.) (Click here to read more)
