- Sheeran reveals how he helped her friend by asking her to co-write a song for his album
- His childhood friend was then struggling to make both ends meet when she approached him for help
- Their collaboration became the worldwide hit “Thinking out loud”
Award-winning British artist Ed Sheeran is more than just a sweet voice, he is also a kind and generous soul.
From opening up a care home to raising money for charities, Sheeran is quite known in his home county Suffolk to give away bags of clothes to charity shops and as an ambassador of East Anglia’s Children’s Hospice.
At the hosting of the MTV European Music Awards in Milan, Italy on Sunday, October 25, the loveable singer revealed how he was able to help a childhood friend, Amy Wadge, who was beset with financial troubles and asked him for some ways to earn money.
So he took her onboard and asked her to help him write as song. The result of their collaboration was, surprise, the monstrous hit “Thinking Out Loud”.
“She was going through financial troubles about a year ago,” Sheeran told the Mirror. “She drove to my house – my album was nearly done – and she asked if I could put a song from when I was 17 on the deluxe album, so she could get a little bit of money and pay the mortgage and bills and stuff.” (Click here to read more)
