- A 7-year-old boy and his mother were shot in the legs at their doorstep by unknown assailants
- The boy asks Santa Claus’ help to find the culprits who hurt him
- The police believes the shooting is related to gang violence and a previous crime
A 7-year-old boy was lying in a hospital bed with gunshot wounds to his thigh when he wrote his wishes for Santa Claus this Christmas.
There were the usual stuff any normal kid would ask from Santa as gifts for the holiday, but high on Christian Hickey’s list is a request for help to catch the men who hurt him and his mother.
“Help the police catch the people who hurt me,” the boy from Manchester, England wrote on top of his heart-wrenching bucket list this Christmas.
Christian and his 29-year-old mom, Jane, from Salford, were shot in the legs by two unidentified men last month in what police believed to be related to gang violence and a previous crime in the neighborhood.
The mother and her son answered to a knock at the door past 9 pm on October 12 at their home in Gillingham Road in the Winton area. At the doorstep were two unidentified men looking for the boy’s father.
When they could not find the father, the assailant shot the woman and the kid. Christian sustained gunshot wounds to his thigh, while his mother was shot in both legs. (Click here to read more)
