- Manila VM Isko Moreno credited his success in showbiz to the late Master Showman
- He considers Kuya Germs his second father and mentor
- The actor-politician added he would have remained a ‘basurero’ if not for the break he got from Kuya Germs
MANILA, Philippines – Manila Vice Mayor Isko Moreno paid an emotional tribute to the late German ‘Kuya Germs’ Moreno whom he considers his mentor and second father.
Entertainment industry icon and star-builder ‘Kuya Germs’ passed away following a cardiac arrest last January 8; one year after suffering a mild stroke.
In his eulogy at the necrological services for ‘Kuya Germs’ at the GMA 7 studio, the Manila vice mayor (whose real name is Francisco Domagoso) recalled how the late Master Showman gave him the break to enter showbiz while he was auditioning for “That’s Entertainment” back in 1993.
“Si Kuya Germs lang naman talaga ang nagbibigay ng pagkakataon sa mga bata from nowhere,” Isko recalled; turning emotional. “After ng live broadcast ng ‘That’s,’ meron nang audition. Nasa entablado ka, kukunan ka ng video, iinterbyuhin ka.”
(Only Kuya Germs was giving a break for most young stars who came from nowhere. After the live broadcast of ‘That’s’, an audition follows. You will be on stage and they’ll take a video then an interview ensues.)
When Kuya Germs asked him what he can do in front of the camera, Isko said he told the late comedian he can’t sing, but he can act. (Click here to read more)
