MANILA, Philppines – From cocktail drink to postage stamp, Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach gets the fitting tribute she deserves after winning the crown in the 2015 Miss Universe last month; becoming the third Filipina in pageant history to bag the title.
To honor her victory, the Philippine Postal Corporation (Philpost) has announced it will release a Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach commemorative stamp this month. The item will be a limited edition, the agency added.
The organizers of the Binibining Pilipinas is set to meet with Philpost officials until next week to decide on the design of the stamp.
However, a report on the website Viva Pilipinas claimed that Philpost librarian Raquel Salvania has already showed a copy of the newly-printed stamp with the image of Pia Wurtzbach. It further claimed that the special commemorative stamp will be sold at P40 each.
Nevertheless, Philpost is hoping to have the stamp printed and available before Wurtzbach return to the country on January 23.
The statuesque Cagayan De Oro lass is currently in New York for a series of media appearances and interviews. (Click here to read more)
