- “Ang Probinsyano” wins as “Best Primetime Series” in the recently-held Platinum Media Awards
- The winning list is dominated by both Kapamilya and Kapuso shows and programs
- ABS-CBN wins as “Best TV Station” while Eat Bulaga wins “Best Noontime Show”
MANILA, Philippines – Rivals ABS-CBN and GMA Network televisions series and shows dominated the 2016 Platinum Media Awards of Trinity University of Asia held on Wednesday, February 4.
For Kapamilya shows, leading the list is Coco Martin’s “Ang Probinsyano” which won the the “Best Primetime Series” award; beating all rivals in the primetime slot.
Last February 2, “Ang Probinsyano” set an all-time record high in national television ratingswith 46.7% according to Kantar Media/TNS data. The boost in the teleserye’s ratings is widely credited to Coco Martins’ portrayal of Paloma, his female alterego in the suspense-filled TV series.
Aside from “Ang Probinsyano”, ABS-CBN also won as Best TV Station, Umagang Kay Ganda as Best Morning Show, Failon Ngayon as Best AM Radio Program and Bandila as Best News Program.
Other Kapamilya talents who won are Kris Aquino as Best Female TV Personality, Dawn Zulueta as Best Film Actress for the Star Cinema’s The Love Affair, and Bimby Aquino-Yap as Best Child Actor for All You Need is Pag-Ibig. (Click here to read more)
