MANILA, Philippines – Maryo J. Delos Reyes, the famed director of ‘Magnifico’, is open to helping troubled actor Jiro Manio rebuild his career in showbusiness after a bout with family problems and drug addiction.
Delos Reyes directed Manio in the award-winning 2003 movie Magnifico, which is no doubt one of the finest indie Filipino films ever made; where the former child star won as Best Actor in the Gawad Urian Awards and Film Academy of the Philippines (FAP) Awards, and as Best Child Actor in the FAMAS Awards.
In a recent interview with Push, Delos Reyes said he is willing to help in casting Manio in any of the six official entries in the newly-created ToFarm Film Festival to be held in July where he sits as one of the organizers.
“Kung available siya for casting at available na siya, bakit hindi? Magaling siyang aktor. ‘Magnifico’ is magnifico. It’s a landmark sa kanyang career,” Delos Reyes said.
