- Robin Padilla campaigns for Mayor Duterte in Hong Kong for free
- Sebastian ‘Basti’ Duterte pitches in for his father who can’t attend because of ‘Pilipinas Debates 2016’
- The event is well attended by Hong Kong OFWs who pledge support for the Duterte-Cayetano tandem
MANILA, Philippines – True to his earlier promise, actor Robin Padilla has been actively campaigning for Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte who is running for president in the coming May election.
On Saturday, February 20, Padilla went to Hong Kong with Duterte’s son, Sebastian (Basti), who had pitched in for his father in the first-ever leg of the mayor’s overseas campaign sorties.
The event on Sunday was jointly-organized by Global Alliance and Duterte Alliance and was well-attended by overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in Hong Kong; mainly supporters of Mayor Duterte.
It was held at Chater Road, the traditional ‘congregation place’ for Hong Kong OFWS.
Duterte was understandably absent due to his prior commitment to the “Pilipinas Debate 2016” held on the same day in Cagayan De Oro City, but Padilla and Basti’s presence proved to be more than enough for OFWs to show their overwhelming support for the mayor’s presidential bid.
A message from the feisty mayor was read before the crowd by his son.
