MANILA, Philippines – An enterprising 12-year-old boy in police uniform was nabbed by real cops after he was caught extorting money from public utility vehicle (PUV) drivers in Pasay City on Monday, February 22.
The boy, whose name cannot be revealed due to his being a minor, was reportedly wearing a cop’s uniform while directing traffic at EDSA Rotonda and extorting money from jeepney, taxi and bus drivers in the area.
Authorities were surprised to find that his uniform indicates a rank of senior inspector and supposedly assigned at the Regional Public Safety Battalion (RPSB) of the National Capital Region Police Office.
He completed his impersonation by donning a toy replica of what looked like a .9mm pistol. He also admitted to have issued violation tickets to erring drivers; asking P100 from them.
Drivers who were caught violating traffic rules were forced to hand him the money after allegedly being threatened by the boy to be reported to the real police. (Click here to read more)
