- A 4-year-old girl was decapitated in front of her mother at a metro station in Taipei

- The man is believed to be suffering from mental illness and had records of drug abuse
A four-year-old girl was decapitated in broad daylight and in front of her mother in an apparently random attack at a metro station in Taiwan on Monday, March 28.
The girl was reportedly playing with her mini scooter that got stuck in a pot hole when the assailant started attacking her without any provocation.
“When it happened, I was just 1 meter away from her. I saw the man come up to my daughter and thought he was helping her, but when I approached them I saw the man hacking at my daughter’s neck,” Shanghaiist quoted the mother as telling reporters.
The mother and the grandfather both desperately tried to stop the 33-year-old suspect surnamed Wang but apparently failed.
“The first thing I did was grab hold of the man, but I wasn’t able to stop him, all I could do was hold him and stop him from escaping, while calling for help,” the distraught mother said. (Click here to read more)
