- An OFW reportedly died following a fall at the Hong Kong international airport
- The female OFW is identified only by her surname Solomon
- The police have yet to establish whether it was a case of suicide or an accident
An overseas Filipino worker (OFW) reportedly fell to her death at the Hong Kong International Airport on Thursday, April 7.
An article by Philip Tubeza for Hong Kong News said the police found the body of the 27-year-old female OFW, identified only by her surname Solomon, lying on the ground floor of Terminal 1 of the Chek Lap Kok International Airport.
Authorities have yet to confirm if it was a case of a suicide or an accident.
“The police received a report at around 7:43 a.m. that there was a woman lying on the ground in Terminal 1. She was brought to Princess Margaret Hospital, where she was certified dead,” Hong Kong News quoted a police spokesperson as saying in a phone interview.
The police official added that initial investigation showed nothing suspicious on the circumstances surrounding the Filipina’s death, so far, and she is believed to have fallen from the bridge located on the second floor.
It was not also immediately known whether the OFW is leaving Hong Kong or had just arrived at the airport. The cause of her death will be determined after a post-mortem examination is completed.
If it’s proven to be a case of suicide, Solomon could be the fifth OFW who took their own lives this year. (Click here to read more)
