- An Indian national won $1-M in the Dubai Duty Free raffle
- He won just six days after surviving the Emirates flight that crash-landed in Dubai
- He said he attributed these ‘miracles’ to God
Luck smiled at a man from India – twice, this month.
A 62-year-old car dealer worker in Dubai became the latest millionaire in the Dubai Duty Free raffle; just days after surviving the Emirates flight crash-landing early this month.
Indian national Mohammad Basheer Abdul Khadar was one of the 282 passengers aboard the Emirates Flight EK521 that made emergency landing at Dubai International Airport following a landing gear failure on August 3.
Fortunately, all the passengers survived the crash, including him.
Six days later, Khadar won $1-million in the Dubai Duty Free raffle drawn on Tuesday, August 9.
According to Gulf News, Khadar works as a fleet administrator at a car dealer group and is due to retire in December.
It became his habit to purchase a raffle ticket at the Dubai Duty Free whenever he goes home to India. His 17th ticket, apparently, brought him the win. (Click here to read more)
