MANILA, Philippines – A netizen is seeking justice for an alleged shooting victim – a Grade 10 student – who was killed while fishing near a private island in the province of Samar.
The victim was identified in a social media post as Marlo P. Atiga, 17 years old, and purportedly the ‘breadwinner’ of the family.
According to Lavz Cruz dela Desabille Facebook post dated January 15, Atiga went fishing near Sibugay island, Tagapula-an when he was shot at close range by a still unidentified assailant/s. She also shared a harrowing photo of the dead victim with what looked like a gunshot wound to the right eye.
The perpetrator supposedly claimed they own the sea around the private island too.
The victim has been described as a kind and hardworking student who only wanted to help the family in trying to earn an extra living by fishing despite the bad weather. (Click here to read more)
